大久保 美貴
1988年、新潟県生まれ。
磁性材料の研究者である父、大久保忠勝に連れられ、幼少期から学生時代までを東京、新潟、大阪、アメリカ、茨城で過ごす。
大学では陶芸の技法や材料について学ぶかたわら、瀬戸や多治見、信楽などの陶芸産地を一人旅する。
そこで訪れた産業技術総合研究所中部センター瀬戸サイト（平成24年閉所）で、収蔵された膨大な釉薬のテストピースに感銘を受け、大学院からは研究の道に進む。
ガラスやナノ粒子、さまざまな結晶から成る釉薬の構造と、それによる発色の変化に関する基礎研究を行い、大学院修了後、陶芸の作品づくりを再開。
結婚後は三度の妊娠を経験し、一人目から順に正期産、流産、早産で出産。
三人目を妊娠中、二人目を流産する原因となった子宮脱落膜ポリープが再び見つかったため、流産を回避すべく自らの身体と向き合い、食生活を改善する。
その過程で得たさまざまな情報や自身の体験から、現在は「妊娠と出産」や「心身の健康」をテーマとするアートに取り組んでいる。

Miki OKUBO
1988, Born in Niigata, Japan.
With her father, Tadakatsu Okubo, a researcher of magnetic materials, she spent her childhood and school days in Tokyo, Niigata, Osaka, the U.S., and Ibaraki.
While studying ceramic techniques and materials at university, she traveled alone to ceramic production areas such as Seto, Tajimi, and Shigaraki.
There, she visited the Seto Site of the Chubu Center of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (closed in 2012), where she was impressed by the great collection of test pieces of glazes and she started her researching days as a warrior trainee.
She conducted basic research on the structure of glazes made of glass, nanoparticles, and various crystals, and the resulting changes in coloration and after completing graduate school, she resumed her ceramic art making.
After she’ve married, she had three pregnancies and childbirth, giving birth in the order of the first to a full-term birth, a miscarriage, and a premature birth.
During her third pregnancy, the uterine prolapsed membrane polyps that caused her last miscarriage were found again, so she researched about the vaginal environment and intestinal microflora, which have been pointed out to be related to miscarriage and premature birth, and improved her diet.
Based on the various information and experiences she obtained through the process; she is currently working on art for pregnancies, childbirth, physical and mental health.
